Yep, that’s stress, mold in dorms, unhealthy food, and drastic changes in sleep schedule

this happened when I got there but my main problem was not moisturizing (different air quality caused my skin to get excema)

Yes (we have 5+ confirmed kinds of mold in the dorms but they just blame us and do nothing about it)

It’s def the water. Filtered shower head helps

Some of it might be hard water on top of the stress you’re going through

Hi so I went thru the same thing! I talked to a few upper classman and they said to get a sink filter. I replaced it and the old aireator had a film of rust and most. Never in my life has my acne been so bad. Once I got a filter (25 dollars off amazon) literally so clear omg.

it’s a combination of things. stress, diet change, water quality change, if you drink alcohol it dries you out, etc.

I cannot let the shower water hit my face at school idk. I use a wet washcloth at the sink and pat my face with it and that is all my skin can handle.

also alcohol can cause your skin to get dehydrated if you party, so drink 5x as many water than you did at home and use lotion

the other reasons were stress but sadly there is not much you can do about that in college 😔

Looking through the comments and seeing if anything will help. But I already drink so much water, have well water so it doesn’t affect my skin like other water, i moisturize and do my typical skin care routine and I don’t drink alcohol and I’m eating fine. IDK WHAT TO DO😭😭😭

Senior here 🙋‍♀️let me just insert what I’ve learned since freshman year self care wise and I hope someone finds it useful *water filter for your dorm bathroom *hepa filter and humidifier(we are counteracting the mold *I know it’s a pain but clean your vents and get a filter patch for them *avoid the dining hall at allllll costs (they aren’t using real eggs if that tells you anything) *aldi is my go to food shopping spot, it’s cheap, you can get 2-3 weeks worth of healthy food for about $100

*aldi also sells wellness shot drinks such as b12, vitamin c, tumeric(hack:take the college town bus there and real mobile back) *eat your greens, your saturated fats like avocados, grains like rice and they are filling, protein bars (chocolate if you have a sweet tooth) *sunscreeeennnnmm *hylaronic (can’t spell sorry) for acne and panoxyl works wonders *hydrate plssss(i am completely sober but if you are drinking hydrate 2x more ) *drink with your friends instead of coop and tav(avoiding sick

*if you’re working out shower as soon as you can after so you don’t have bacteria growing and causing acne *cover up as much as possible at the gym and wipe evening down before and after(same bacteria concept) *take time for you , DONT BE AFRAID TO SAY NO!!!if you are being invited out but are too tired or know you have to be up early in the morning don’t give in to FOMO And burn yourself out. All my friends did this freshman year (including me) and I am the only one who is still in college!
