i don’t think there’s any way around it, i think you’re going to have to use condoms and the pull out method this time too.

So I’m not on birth control, and normally I just track my cycle and only have sex outside my predicted fertile window ALWAYS WITH condoms and pulling out. But my bf and I are going on vacation this weekend which happens to fall during my fertile window. I was hoping I could take plan B to delay ovulation so that we could still have sex safely this weekend.

I’m just having trouble figuring out the timing of when to take the pill. I’ve been taking LH tests for a couple says and it’s all been negative, but I know as soon as I see a spike in LH then it’ll be too late for plan b to do anything (I know Ella is effective even after the LH surge, but it’s prescription only and I don’t have time it get it before we leave for the trip). Idk I just don’t know how to time this correctly bc I don’t want to take it too early.

And yes I know it’s supposed to be EMERGENCY contraception for use after unprotected sex, but if I wait until after sex then ovulation will likely have already been triggered, and plan b would be ineffective.

you can even use condoms with spermicide if you want to feel extra safe! but even if you’re ovulating, condoms and pulling out would be adequate protection
