i meannn obi-wan’s love clearly did not interfere with his duties. and if it got to the point where it did, he would’ve made a decision between love and the jedi order. i feel like you can love without it being the kind of attachment the jedi believe leads to the dark side. anakin’s love was very attached and possessive + often interfered with his duties and culture as a jedi

exhibit a, when satine died he was upset but didn’t go dark side. when anakin had dreams about padme dying, he went full dark side, killed younglings, and also choked her out😭 obi wan teased anakin for it but i think he truly trusted him and thought he’d be able to manage being a jedi and in love, in part probably bc obi wan had been able to do the same
