i think there’s a Chance something like that could even redeem luke’s characterization in the sequels — considering killing ben makes more sense if obi wan was counseling him and telling him about how much suffering could have been prevented if he’d been strong enough to kill anakin when he had the chance

What development? Luke doesn’t do anything up until or during TLJ. Unless they retcon those movies out, he’s got nothing to do.

luke’s self-imposed exile could also make more sense if it took after obi wan’s and he had some sort of secret mission or something to protect that he couldn’t tell rey about — similar to how it may have looked for obi wan if we only saw his interactions with ezra on tattooine but never learned the reason behind his exile in the OT or other media. knowing filoni i wouldn’t be surprised if he did something like that — i know some of his decisions are unpopular rn, but over time i do think it
