Sometimes you gotta consume Disney’s Star Wars content like it is fanfic. Because some of it is really good and enjoyable, and some of it is a massive trainwreck.

That’s how I am if a piece disappoints me it is what it is I doubt if I read every Star Wars novel before Disney I’d be a big fan of most of them but I’m not gonna let some trash projects ruin my fun for whatever’s next I just hope they make better choices based on feedback in the future

I’ve read the novels, and I consumed them like it was fanfiction as well. Because there is good and bad in the novels too, but I personally think the novels really benefited from writing for a more niche narrowed down audience, while the Disney Star Wars is trying to attract the EVERYBODY audience, and it’s hard to please and write for EVERYBODY because EVERYBODY search for different things in a story and it just gets muddy.

Also I think Disney also just keeps banking on “oh it’s Star Wars, people will watch it anyways good or bad just because of the name.” Which is the same mindset they have with all their projects. Doesn’t matter if people like it or not, if they’re still making big money off of it good or bad feedback.

See that’s the main thing for me is I think the sequel trilogy is straight trash it had good ideas budding and they would get pissed on by the next movie every time but the novels and other eu media had this weird eclectic vibe to it that I loved that’s why the mandolorian had me so excited bc it’s was so off beat but now it’s just wait till something good comes out but good isn’t what I’m interested in like it’s more so that different gimme horror, a western and a soap opera on top

They just have too much of a library of settings and characters and times to be so subdued as they have been they could make a show in every genre and with the right people on staff they’d all be bangers and perfectly meld into the overarching story
