And to be clear, I'm not asking why anyone doesn't like the sequels, I'm asking why you/others are so forceful about it

I would say, liking them doesn’t mean you’re not a true Star Wars fan. You can enjoy them and like them for what they are and you can take them as a seperate story line or as an ending in an alternate universe. People are forceful about it because they (Disney) went on to ruin and honestly crap on the characters and lore already built in the past. Some people also just take things to the extreme. I believe had they kept the same director for all 3 (JJ) it would have been a different experience.
