The sad thing about the sequels is that it honestly had a lot going for it in all the concept art they had a full war on a large city, Rey with a double bladed lightsaber with both red and blue, more unique worlds. It was just very poorly executed

This!! The Sequels had so much potential and the concept art was fantastic, and honestly I really enjoyed the Force Awakens movie. There were definitely issues with the company and editorial that meddled too much with the story and clouded the end products.

Right like the force awakens had its flaws of course but it was the starting point that could be expanded on more and more but no the last Jedi kills all those things literally with snoke and Luke and the rise of skywalker instead of rolling with those punches and trying to make something of it, it just seems like no communication has happened whatsoever and the sad thing is they where left a sequel focused on leia trying to fight against crime syndicates, empire loyalists all while trying too

Run a new republic that was created by George Lucas with the main villain being maul as the big mastermind but The face was going to be Darth Talon

I feel like Finn and Poe got thrown under the rug and reduced to random Marvel Movie type jokes too in Last Jedi and especially in Rise of Skywalker. Finn being a former StormTrooper and potentially force sensitive was such a cool concept wish they could’ve developed his story a bit more instead of just giving up on it 💔

Yes like look at this image. And imagine what could have been even without a lightsaber just a stormtrooper revolving against the order and causing a civil war between them for those that want to make their own way of life and those who are loyal to the cause there is a deleted scene where phasma is talking to Finn about how he is a traitor and some troopers actually put down their blasters as they realize how they have their own free will before being gunned down by phasma

Phasma is also a character I feel the sequels could’ve been explored a bit more as well.

She has a comic explaining her gladiator past yet why do we need to go out of our way to watch a film? If you want more context and adventures yes you can go look for it a lot of side characters in the original trilogy like boba have a bunch of stories outside of the films but they had very important stuff for main characters like kylo turning to the dark and taking over the knights of ren or him bleeding his crystal but ends up cracking it or even meeting a vision of Vader but all in a comic
