My hot take is that the force awakens is far better than attack of the clones and barely misses top five Star Wars movies

Honestly respectable take. They made some choices I wasn’t necessarily a fan of but ultimately it was a great Star Wars movie and a set up for a good trilogy. It was more 8 and 9 that dragged the sequels down

My biggest issue is Maz having Luke’s Lightsaber, and Mara Jade not being a character

It’s a shot for shot remake of a new hope, the OT protagonists never appeared in a scene together, the scene construction where it isn’t a shot for shot remake is really poor, and the dialogue is threadbare at best

Better than attack of the clones???? No way. It was a good movie, but not better than *the* attack of the clones

As an avid sequel hater force awakens was never the problem just the next two movies

Loved force awakens and I’ll forever be disappointed that the rest of the sequel trilogy let down everything that it set up

Force Awakens is so baller and such a good set up. I honestly love it and reminisce on what could’ve been.

TFA was widely considered the best since the OT at release. Anyone who thinks AOTC is better really just thinks hating on the sequels is cool.

The force awakens in itself is great and set up a very good base for a story….. it’s what they did after that ruins it. But the force awakens is a good watch for sure, argument valid for top 5, but it’s close

I actually enjoyed the force awakens as an individual movie, but I hate where it took the franchise. Lucas’s original idea for the sequels was so much better. The force awakens feels more or less like a repeat of a new hope.

I enjoy the entire Skywalker Saga (so even the sequels), and I love The Force Awakens. It’s probably #3 for me in terms of my 9 film ranking

Dude ROTS is my personal favorite Star Wars film but the prequels are not good movies. They’re necessary for the story and have some of my favorite duels in all of Star Wars but the writing, directing, and pacing is borderline terrible.

For the first two at least. ROTS isn’t nearly as bad when it comes to that

Kyle is probably the best written character in the sequels until the end like where did the love dynamic come from
