Ya we don’t know what they are but my theory is that vecna’s tubes are so he can can connect to the children and siphon their power. My question is, what exactly happens when he disconnects himself from them like we see when he chases holly into dimension x and attaching another one to will in his mind?

no cause he was strapped up like this in season 4 too

no his true body (remember he like astral projects) was strapped into these in season 4 before he got the kids

I mean ya he was still strapped up but they weren’t connected to anything other than the thing in the abyss. I’m sure I’m wrong but I do think it has to do with his using his powers in some way

yeah exactly, the thing in the abyss is the barely “alive”ruins of the original mind flayer (who’s essence is now those black shadow particles)
