I’m pretty sure the military left BECAUSE they both died. They had no interest in Hawkins anymore without eleven or the upside down. I am, however, confused about how no one in the party faced consequences from the military. Hopper killed dozens of soldiers and freed a super powered human from a highly secure, secret government base. Why did they just let him walk free? They literally found him in a stolen military vehicle😭

THIS IS WHAT IM SO MAD ABOUT. with the way the military didn’t believe the party till the demo/vecna killed them, they could’ve done something where they believed the party & gave up on hunting el. because WHERE IS DR KAY

Yeh, but even if they decided to no longer continue the experiment (most o the soldiers didn’t even know about that, they assumed El was responsible) everyone there literally has knowledge of the military’s top secrets. Like wdym you just…let them all go, and the audience doesn’t even know how. Feels like they just came up with a contrived way for El to go through with sacrificing herself.
