Two of the most common things I feel as a young adult are bitterness and resentment. I didn’t expect this, certainly not to this extent. Am I the only one?

Nope you’re definitely not. I’d say it’s the world we’re in rn that’s pushing us down. We think being an adult is gonna be somewhat fun but it’s really not and we’re seeing how much we gotta take care of once a generation is gone. It’s not as simple as it was before. But try to find things that make you happy! Things that make this stupid world worth living in

I saw a video of someone talking about how when they were younger they were given a basic formula that promised them financial security (this person was a millennial) The formula was graduate high school, get a degree/enter a trade = security) but younger generations are no longer receiving the same returns that older generations received despite them following the same formula that they were encouraged and convinced they had to follow to be successful. You are not alone.

Oh god YES. I thought I was the only one and it was literally ripping me apart. From the world literally being in shambles, to us being fed total lies about adulthood as a kid that made us heavily disappointed, to also just my own family trauma and becoming aware of it as an adult to also just people and how horrible they can be to u for no reason and on top of that realizing how terrible men can be & tht the married w/ kids lifestyle is actually completely unrealistic and very hard to create

Deadass the only thing getting me through these wacky times is joking about it. Like WW3? Omg hope I’ll like my fellow soldiers 😍 omg I see fireworks in the sky (it’s really rockets lmao)

I graduated high school in 2020 from a average public school and I remember how the concept of going to college was forced down our throats and they never talked about other options. I remember our principle outwardly discouraging seniors at assemblies from taking gap years because “if you take a gap year it’ll result in you never continuing your education cause you’ll get lazy”. I don’t blame our generation for being resentful
