As a trump supporter this realistically leans more like nepotism hire (since he was friends with Charlie Kirk), but regardless I think this is an idiotic hire and should be frowned upon

Nepotism ≠ DEI

It’s not DEI because DEI candidates are always qualified for their position. This is just good old fashioned cronyism.

Diversity Equity Inclusion This is a sympathy pick—not DEI. You don’t have to be ā€œRepublicanā€ to understand what DEI means which is weird bc that’s a Republican thing

Well I’m not a radicalism trump supporter like the idiots that storms the capital and shit like that but I tend to line up my beliefs more toward trump and the Republican Party than democratic candidates, will that always be the case who knows but as of right now it’s how I lean

DEI is racial nepotism.

No it’s not. DEI was created to inhibit the preexisting racial/gender biases (minorities not getting jobs because they weren’t white men). You don’t find it ironic that white men randomly said ā€œDEI, the thing that protects yall from workplace discrimination, is actual bad.ā€

DEI isn’t the thing that protects from discrimination, the equal employment opportunity act and its commission do that. DEI flies directly in the face of the EEO by hiring based solely on race alone in order to fulfill an arbitrarily preset %.

That is a complete lie. I’ll never understand lying on the internet, the same internet you can use to fact check yourself. Do I give you the ā€œfell for it againā€ award or does fox entertainment?

You should give it to my HR and business law professors since you think I’ve just made this up on the spot. Or maybe you should present it to the Supreme Court justices that recently ruled affirmative action as discriminatory and unlawful. You can hurl whatever accusatory statements you want, but that doesn’t make DEI less discriminatory.

This assumes that people who fall under DEI are unqualified

Why would DEI be necessary if the most qualified people are being hired already?

To account for population size (comment removed so i’ll use shapes) if there’s 100 people applying for a job that all have the same qualifications but 98% of those people are YT and 2% are not, which group will most likely be picked if you choose only looking at the qualifications?

Go do your research and see how everybody you could think of is in there. The entirety of our 1% population are sick individuals. Do I think it’s ok? Hell nah everyone named in that shit should be put on trial immediately, but that isn’t gonna happen so I work with the cards I’m dealt

Do you care about the infinitely higher pedophilia and rapes committed by migrants in Europe or do you just bring up Epstein as a political tool while not actually caring about any rape victims?

It’s not my job to make up for what people whom I’m not related to did. All of my ancestors came to America after the civil war. No one alive today has even witnessed slavery in the states much less been a part of it.

The downvotes here are stupid. Regardless of whether someone likes DEI or not, #7 is correctly defining it here. Assuming you’re defining DEI in a similar way to Affirmative Action, then it is discriminatory, BY DEFINITION. Now there are valid arguments above why that is a GOOD thing (to combat preexisting racial inequalities, etc), but that doesn’t change the fact that it IS racial discrimination (used to fight inequalities)

You are actively admitting that DEI hires not based on merit. If 2% of qualified applicants are not WYT then the entire company’s employee numbers should reflect that +/- depending on how many employees there are. Basic statistics. If 10% of employees are not WYT when only 2% is qualified, 8% are NOT QUALIFIED.

You’re the one who brought it up. If you truly care about helping victims why don’t YOU do something about it? But I know you won’t because people’s suffering is only a political tool for you.
