You see a curated version of trump that matches your ideas thanks to social media algorithms and other media that you use. In the same way people that love trump see all the good parts about him. Even articles that come up on Google are curated to you. We are all being turned against each other by powerful people that don’t want us to talk and have civil conversations. Because they know it would cause us to turn on them.
Ehhhhh. Echochambers are real, yes. They want to keep everyone divided, yes. However, polarization and propaganda are both extremely effective. He says one thing and does another— but it’s okay because the libs and snowflakes are mad. He and his campaign managers are using aggressive propagandic language to further the divide between the two parties, which is then furthering polarization. It’s a vicious cycle. It’s not even necessarily “the media” as a whole— it’s his entire strategy.
I could go on about the sociologic dynamic of power and influence etc and different political models to explain what he’s doing, but what it comes down to is he wants to be powerful. And is very very good at telling people what they want to hear, even if it’s not initially what he promised. Admittedly, there is some demonization of him as a whole, however a VAST majority of the negative accusations and aspects of him are truthful. It just doesn’t fit the narrative he has created for himself
So… when you said “you see a curated version of Trump,” that quite literally is an echo chamber. Like that is what that means. Curating media and interactions with people to validate your opinions. Also, last I checked, dems weren’t posting stuff like this. This is TEXTBOOK propaganda…framing yourself as a hero while villainizing the “other side,” harsh language inciting a “rally around the flag” mindset… need I go on?
I have a degree in politics and pre law. I do heavy, nonpartisan research before forming an opinion on ANYTHING. Hell, I read all 13 titles of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (which, btw, the title of this is also a form of propaganda). I’m not calling it bad because I don’t like it. I’m calling it bad because I’ve done case studies of many many countries before they devolved into coups and wars… and I’m seeing parallels.
