that is very dangerous, because its responses weigh what random people say on the internet equally to what is actually medically correct or helpful.

that’s one problem, but also it just takes an incredible amount of computing power to generate the responses, and the very few processors specifically for that type of work by this point are very inefficient and expensive, leading companies to just buy chips that are cheaper upfront. it takes time for hardware to be developed to catch up to new types of software needs. it is also cheaper to build server farms in places where cleaner energy alternatives aren’t available.
