For my ocd girlies what was erp therapy like for you I was thinking about starting because I’ve been going with undiagnosed OCD literally my whole life but ERP sounds so fucking intimidating, you start really slow if you want?

I haven’t personally gone through ERP as my OCD has been well-managed with meds but I have secondhand experience. You start slow and go as slow as necessary (as long as your therapist knows what they’re doing) since the point is to desensitize you not overwhelm you. ERP has a high success rate and I hope you benefit from it <3

How were you able to acquire meds? What was the process like for you?

I’m lucky that regular SSRIs work for me. I was originally on Prozac and hated it but Zoloft has been amazing. I was prescribed it by a pediatrician like 8 years ago and I’ve been on it ever since

I’m 24 and I have a feeling my doctor knows I have OCD so I’m afraid that if I ask her for medication that will probably help it that she’ll probably refer me to a therapist and I’m really trying to do my best to make that decision on my own

I don’t have OCD, I have CPTSD, but my doc did the same and once I finally got them to refer me to a good psychiatrist that took time with me, it was life changing. They’ll get you the meds or therapy you need
