Can we stop blaming politics and funding for the flood victims.. it is not the place or time for that. People died. DIED. Gone forever Stop blaming People are grieving. Nature can be very powerful. No one knew how bad it was going to be. 🕊️🕊️🕊️

This is such a cop-out. People are dying, and people are grieving. And people can still be mad/try to fix why it occurred. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to think about more than one thing at once.

Nope, this is absolutely political. There are deaths that could’ve been prevented if that 🍊🐷 had done things differently. Yes, nature is powerful and what happened is heartbreaking, that doesn’t mean we can’t point out the problems here.

You can be sad that something bad happened and angry at the person that made it worse at the same time

The heads of the national weather service warned in May that the funding cuts would lead to people dying because of inaccurate forecasts. It’s fairly straightforward that Trump and Elon are responsible for this, as their actions directly lead to the lack of warning that could have saved lives

No one knew how bad it would be because of NOAA and FEMA cuts. Obviously I feel for the victims and that’s why I wanna make sure this doesn’t happen again. Which means getting the administration to reverse their previous decision to cut funding just so they could get tax cuts for the rich. I don’t want thoughts and prayers I want results!

What if it was your child you lost? I doubt that wouldn’t be your first thought..

That very much depends on how my child was lost. If it was completely unavoidable than no that wouldn’t be my first thought. But if it was a huge disaster and my president just stripped health care away from my family and my child was strongly affected by that, that would absolutely be one of my first thoughts.

You know what he can do? Send aid, make a statement, not strip away healthcare, donate money to victims. You know what he’s doing? Stripping healthcare, eating ice cream and golfing. Everything is political.

It only is if you make it.. which I get why a lot of people do.. but I don’t think about it cause it’s just stressful. I just live in the moment and know god is beside me. My town was turn up from Helen and cities in NC were hit worse it that was also in the middle of the night without warning.. when we had all the people to give warnings.. 🤷🏼‍♀️.

There it is! There’s no point in trying to have a discussion with a religious person, it’s like taking to a pine cone

*to be fair* the bill that was passed recently didn’t strip anyone of healthcare yet- that likely won’t happen until 2026. However, Trump did pretty much gut FEMA, which would have helped significantly in this instance, so he’s still very much at fault.

It sucks that you have to face shame for believing in god, I’m glad it brings you joy. Religious people have a right to believe in whatever they want.religious people have brought god into politics which is not right&“It only is if you make it” does not apply to politics. Literally every part of our experience is political, aka impacted and molded due to the politics that are in power. That is the nature of government and that is the nature of our society. This isn’t something you can wish away.
