how are those sea animals turning to rock and not decomposing. why are they rock now

Its similar to terrestrial animals. They die, sink to the bottom of the ocean and then get covered by layers of sediment like mud and sand. There is not a lot of oxygen under water which also helps the remains decompose slower which gives chance to the sediment to stick to the remains. Think about it like dropping a lollipop on the ground and having stuff stick to it. This happens overtime which hardens the remains thus making a fossil

is the original inside the rock at all? or is it all rock

Essentially it’s a cast of the original, the actual bone or tissue has long since disappeared (although not in all cases) and what we see as a fossil is the material that replaces the original.

Nope. I had to look up a lot of the details on this. But there is so much information that is just a click away and with the right amount of curiosity it can be really fun to learn

No. I’m just a nerd who saw someone ask a question I knew the answer to. Don’t be sad that you don’t know everything, no one knows everything. But having the genuine curiosity to learn about something is a good thing.
