If churches can be tax free, maybe use the funding to help homeless or hungry, while the % is in the high 80s. Where is the other 20%

Rent, utilities, mission trips, deacon funds, other charities, maintenance, etc

Most of the money they get goes to everything except charity. Yet they intrude in politics and healthcare. I can’t wait for churches to be a thing of the past.

I don’t think mission trips should even be considered while we have so many issues going on in our own country. Build homes here first and then when all the homeless are housed, go to another country.

There’s tons of organized trips domestically. Like several churches and mine went to Tennessee to help with the tornados a few years ago. Happens very very often. Global mission trips exist additionally

But what is the homeless rate in Tennessee? I think helping out after tornadoes is great but there are more issues here than just natural disasters that involve homeless people. There shouldn’t be a single homeless person in the community before we spend money on sending a group of college kids to make a mud hut, take a selfie, say a prayer and come home thinking that’s all they needed to do to be a good Christian.

lol local churches can’t do everything. People don’t donate their salaries, just a bit here and there

I’m not saying save the world, I’m saying spend the money people put into mission trips on local issues instead of wasting it on vacations for college kids.
