this. not from the abortion itself but the nuisance of scrolling on social media and seeing the videos of people who tried to get pregnant for so long and finally do, you realize in a way that that could’ve been you. that that pregnancy could have been ur “finally” moment but instead it was the scariest and most disassociating experience of your life. no one talks about the fear of maybe one day actually getting better, having a good job, an actual life and then wanting a baby and then not..pt 2
You have all these possibilities of a different life from a different choice tormenting you. Remind yourself that you made this choice for a reason. You clearly know the odds, and that having the baby wouldn’t have been good for anyone. Think about it this way- you eliminated potential suffering for you, your partner, and your potential baby. You get to recover and move on. If you believe in souls, the mane that soul is born elsewhere. You didn’t bring any bad into he world. You merely prevented
I mean its just life some die of thirst while others drown, I absolutely cannot imagine affording to live on my own and not in my parents house let alone have a child currently, & i am perfectly fertile, there are millions of fertile people that do not want children & millions who are infertile that dream of having kids, both are valid & it is TOTALLY valid to have an abortion you absolutely did the right thing, imagine if u kept the child & the stress you and ur family would be in
being able to conceive again. i have a sort of ocd where i can convince myself that i am the worst, that i could’ve always done something differently, everything. this has made it so much worse and i am now worried about the cosmic negative karma i have put on myself by doing this. yet at the same time i know if i had brought a baby into this world it would have drowned not only me but that baby in a world of pure suffering in so many ways yes i have a partner but he was no where near ready..pt3
either. does anyone have any tips on how to feel better about this and make this guilt feel lighter? i cant seems to escape these thoughts that i have only temporarily averted the sadness, confusion, and emotional turmoil of having a baby for a little while and will pay for it in some other way later on in life. i am not religious so i am not worried about afterlife at all, i am more worried about the karmic puddle of bad that i have created for myself by not accepting the bad reality of.. pt3
just having the baby. am i wrong for thinking that i was worthy of a chance to get better mentally and physically before bringing someone else to this world or should i have just took the risk and maybe a baby would have fixed me and maybe i wouldn’t have plunged into postpartum depression and just took that risk? i dont know
the only reason i was having unprotected sex was because my partner and i were told we had the lowest chances of ever conceiving. unless the doctors who told us that were going to take the baby idk who else would’ve been fit enough to take care of that baby. the foster system in this country is abysmal and my care probably wouldn’t have been much better. sex isn’t a prehistoric act to merely reproduce anymore, it makes people feel good and sometimes just pleasure and not duty is okay.
if i had an idea that i could have ever gotten pregnant i would be on birth control but why would i flood my body with hormones that would make me feel like im going more insane than just being natural? and if neither of us thought it was possible there was no thought to take an emergency contraceptive either and stop it all before conception. sorry i’m not a cat that sniffs cancer on top of being a person w lots of empathy.
