Best advice i could give after having a job offer before graduating is that it’s not 100% about making the company pick you. That’s a huge part of it but once you get deep in the interview process, it’s about making the company show why you should work for them. Ask questions about the industry, competitors, why they think this is a good field to work in, where they see their business in 5 years. Stand out. Don’t ask the boring questions about work-life balance and all that.
That’s why people don’t get jobs. They think the world is out to punish them. Grab the job market by the balls, stand out and make the company pick you. It’s not all about showing the company why they should hire you, it’s about the company telling you why you should work for them.
My boyfriend graduated from aerospace engineering and he had to go for a different engineering position because is hard to get in that field entry level, I recommend you to start in the engineering field in general and be open to different engineering positions even if it’s not your dream job, it will give you the experience and take you out of the entry level category ☺️
He started as a release engineer for an insurance company (he works remotely and makes 60k a year), you can go into any type of engineering to start your journey, some companies are not expecting you to be specialized in the specific type of engineering but they are looking for the skills that someone learns in engineering school.
