i’m starting to understand why poverty is so common, applied to 20+ jobs and they say “u don’t meet the qualifications” as if being a cashier is rocket science. applying to jobs isn’t hard but getting the job is 🫩

Arkansas is bad like this too. No one can find a job here despite “everyone hiring”

Reserve army of labor putting pressure on the employed to accept poor treatment and keep them in check 💔💔 read a lil Marx and join the fight brother. Not for communism per se just for this shit to CHANGE

I’ve had that issue before. I’m not sure how true this is, but there can be such a thing as being over qualified

It helps a lot to call them a few days after you apply and ask if they got a chance to look at your application, if you dont already do that

i got denied after the GM, the AGM, and other servers HIGHLY recommended me to the new bar manager for me to be a bartender and server. she even praised me during my interview and they just fired their bartender right before my interview “we will not be moving forward at this time” okay sweety. try and get someone with better recommendations than me😭😭

fs, i’ve applied to jobs that say “urgently hiring” and they just reject me or never get back to me, mind u i have experience

actually makes a lot of sense bc a lot of these jobs are minimum wage; $16.35 and they expect u to do a lot

i was thinking about doing this as it is the most common sense thing to do but i haven’t done it yet, ive done it before tho and they’ve told me “everything’s online”

Maybe apply online first and then go in to talk to them

yes it’s on purpose they do all this shi by design and they always have and always will unless we stop them.

It did help me to walk into the workplace (particularly petco) and ask for the manager. Not in a weird way, just a, ‘I see you have an opening and I was wondering if you had more information about what the job is like’. And then I’d ask carefree questions about the job that felt realistic. I got a call back.

It also makes a difference if you already have a job. Even if it’s a Dunkin’ Donuts or something. Applying without a job is probably one of the best ways to cut yourself short!

tbh it could but but I tried to make it very appealing as well as professional, added my extracurriculars as a volunteer at a senior center + my old ones as & my job experience :/

i applied to petco and they said i didn’t meet the requirements which sounds ridiculous knowing i mentioned i had experience as a cashier as well as with animals, last time i went to a place and asked for the manager all they told me was “everything is online” which is just annoying

SO WHY DIDNT U HIRE ME????? i’m so glad i have another job and this was j gonna be extra money but like wtf. i was alrdy offered the job before by the GM before she came but u moved to europe for like 4 months for school so i couldn’t take it at that time

But not if they say to apply online. Then they write your name down to not hire you because you can’t follow directions
