the term is called “memetic warfare” if you want to do more research into it yourself, but explaining super basically: the cia will create memes to influence people into not taking incidents seriously, or to associate those who try to bring awareness to said incident as being cringe. an example i’ve seen floating around is that “i like my ice… crushed” diva cat meme, but this is how trump got elected in both terms

no, i’m not, and that’s what they’re counting on. being aware of it is better than being ignorant to how the media i’m consuming is attempting to influence me. just because you are unable to see below the surface of the water doesn’t mean it’s not full of hidden dangers (that’s called an analogy, btw)
