Then they need to open up more. They’re not taken seriously because they’re expected to be “manly” and strong. Real strength is admitting when you’re wrong and down. Real strength is also allowing others to help you while you still strive for your independence. I’m a girl so I can’t entirely relate but as a person, I can understand how that would be so upsetting to not be taken seriously

Idk if we interpreted what he said the same way, I interpreted it as him saying thats how things were and it was out of his control. Which is a situation some people are unfortunately in and they need support. If anything especially the end where he asked men to talk to men, it sounded like he didn’t want men to be independent.

Some of us have real strength, but are often ignored entirely or treated like our issues don’t matter. I know a lot of men that feel like ghosts the way we can literally talk about killing ourselves and be completely ignored. I also don’t think this issue is entirely unique to men. I’m so glad I found a therapist and encouraged my friends to do the same.
