It’s for people to talk about whatever they want… The people want conversation. The people want change. The people want unity.

“The people want change” as they sit on Yik yak and do the exact same thing day in and day out

Dawg we go to protests too. Just because you only see the stuff on yikyak doesn’t mean fuck all, how on earth would you know what else we get up to when we’re not on here?

For the record I’m all for politics. I comment in the U.S. politics chat all the time. Just wild to me there’s a dedicated forum for it and 50% of the messages in this messages in here are politics related

Under almost any other administration I’d agree, however this one is so insanely impactful (not in a good way) that’s it’s affecting a LOT more people’s daily lives. Not to mention the us politics community is its own cesspool with its own specific microculture. From my perspective it seems like us politics is where people go to argue, posts in general seem to be more casual. I haven’t read a ton of posts from either community lately tho

This ^ I think the conversation can also be had that it goes beyond political issues at this point. Supporting and not supporting this administration is no longer a political question in my opinion. This is so far beyond politics. This is the people vs the power.
