NASA person here - I don’t think anyone realizes how impactful the cuts to NASA will be, not only in the next few years, but decades

“Man nasa hasn’t been to the moon in 60 years” BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE REFUSE TO PAY FOR IT Out of every tax dollar, 0.037 of that goes to NASA.

Dude go ahead and look up every single fucking innovation nasa has been responsible for like in the medical field cochlear, implants artificial limbs, heart pumps, cat scans. Dude they helped make cordless power tools, scratch resistant linses, water purification, smoke detectors, freeze dried food, and fucking memory foam Reply

I created a new more sustainable insulation, and these guys from nasa were talking to me about how nasa created the home insulation we use today, and they thought it was cool how it could be made more suitable Any technological innovation you could think of nasa probably has some foot in it. NASA didn’t just disappear after the moon landing

And kids at work ask why we don’t go back to the moon. Because we finally have a moon program and ts gets cut before we even send out rocket #2

As soon as the privet sector opened up for space exploration and billionaires made companies, the interest in nasa slowed so the funding stopped. Why don’t we go back to the moon, because the people running space exploration think you can go to mars with 3 years of prep

I do find it interesting that the timeline for going to mars hasn’t shifted back considering the rockets they’re supposedly sending there keeps exploding
