might be a hot take, but i’m tired of people acting like you can only travel or do fun things in your 20s as if life is just over after that. if you have the money to travel, then do so, but stop acting like your 20s are the only time in life to have fun

Dare I say it’s wiser to travel when you’re older. If you have zero savings and blowing everything on travel that’s pretty irresponsible. But once you’re older, have the time and the money, blow baby blow

yeah i am lucky enough that i was able to travel a little in my 20s but now my finances have changed and i prob won’t be able to do so again for at least a few years (24 in grad school now) but like even when i was travelling i met plenty of 30+ year olds staying in hostels and partying, everybody’s circumstances are different

my parents said 45-50 is the best age because you're finally comfortable with yourself + your kids are self sufficient + you have money

Do people act like that? That's strange. Most people i see travelling are way ahead of their 20s

I took a couple of years off between my master’s and Ph.D to travel. Best decision I’ve ever made tbh.

that’s just what my social media feed shows me. literally the first video on my fyp was “money comes money goes, but i’ll never be in my 20s again zip lining through a rainforest in puerto rico.” like i’m not saying it’s bad to travel in your 20s, but it’s so unrealistic within a financial sense 😭 like eggs are $7, how are y’all affording flights? 💀 i just hate the narrative that you’re like running out of time as if life is over after your 20s

How do you travel to Europe when you're not even 24 yet 😭 I need to know

i had a lot of scholarships which covered most of my tuition/rent plus i worked part time during the year & full time every summer as an engineering intern which paid pretty well so i was able to swing it but i live pretty frugally 99% of the time & do not get help from my parents. no rush tho i promise you’ll have so much fun whenever you do get to travel 🫶

i agree. i know people who are barely able to afford their rent yet are still traveling… i try not to judge bc it’s none of my business, but i just think that’s so financially irresponsible 😭

And you know it’s always the ones who can’t pay rent who are out taking their third trip to Europe!
