I agree. I would say him and Francis have honestly made more people look towards the faith. I think showing the world that the church is more progressive then they think is good to help show that we Catholics are accepting of everybody. Wanna share this quote from Francis cause I think about it a lot tbh.

I think no matter what he does or whatever pope does, he can only do so much. You can publicly say you denounce it and have programs for people to report priests abusing their power but ultimately, there are too many people who turn to faith to take advantage of children

I’m a queer Christian in part because I saw a theologian talking about a couple biblical stories from a queer lens and it fundamentally changed how I viewed religion & enabled me to authentically reconnect with it
