I did notice that Ted Cruz tried to flatter him in the beginning in order to keep him from questioning him too hard so I do respect Tucker for not going easy on him

I intensely doubt that Tucker Carlson’s motivations for roasting Ted Cruz were pure or noble in any way. His argument was stronger, but he was trying to get the upper hand for personal clout, not because he cares about truth or justice AT ALL. However, Ted Cruz is so unlikeable that even Tucker looks comparatively more charismatic.
