He condoned sex slavery, slavery, forced abortions, and genocide. He’s useless.

He actually never condoned any of that. Man did, Christians have. Being a follower in Christ is radically different.

What are you talking about? Context matters.

The Bible states “take for yourselves the young virgin girls as spoils of war” (I.e. sex slaves) and Jesus said for slaves to obey their masters. Any loving god would free slaves, not subject them to hell on earth.

Actually Paul said that not Jesus. And what you first have to understand is that slaves back in those days were more of indentured servants. Second thing is, Paul isn’t promoting slavery. He’s saying not to do what Spartacus did and hold a slave rebellion because that was a whole mess for a whole bunch of people, bunch of death on both sides. What he’s saying is respect your masters but understand that freedom is best. He exemplifies this in the letter of file leeman…

In that he meets a slave, writes to his master and asks him to no longer accept him as a slave but instead a brother in Christ

That’s why context and reading the whole thing through matters 🙃

Next level wrong. The Bible gives clear instructions on who is to be enslaved, as well as who gets to be enslaved for life with no pay. It explicitly states they are property to be passed on. So, we can dismiss half of the New Testament since Jesus didn’t say it?

Actually, Leviticus 25 outlines a system where debt slavery is allowed, and a focus on the release of debt slaves on the Jubilee year. The Jubilee year, is a period of restoration and release, on this year, debt slaves are released and property is returned to its original owners

Now back to one of the main points I proposed on how “slaves” back then were more of indentured servants. Look at the word for “slaves.” In Hebrew, it is the word ebed. As any Hebrew dictionary will tell you, this word can mean “servant,” “slave,” “minister,” “adviser,” or “official.”

I’m confused now are u trying to endorse ‘indentured servitude’ cause the bible says so or am I misunderstanding something ?

Servant in modern day terms would better be fit as worker or employee. Now let's look at what the words used in the verse Exodus 21:16. In Hebrew, this word is qnh, meaning "buy," or "acquire," or even "create." Or in modern lingo, "hire." In the "buying process" who is the money being paid to? The workers themselves. This is describing a hiring process, paying someone to work for you.

Think of it as “aye bro I need my some shit on my lawn done. Now I know you’re poor as fuck but I’m willing to buy you (furthermore buy your services) to get that shit done” catching my drift? 😂

Now fs there was legitimate slavery going on, but again I don’t see where the Bible or Jesus non the fact promotes it? Ever heard of Moses freeing the slaves in Egypt? Parting the Red Sea to get away? I mean mannn come onnn. Looks like you’re trying harder to find slavery promotion in the Bible than actual reading and understanding the context itself 💀

I was actually thinking of Moses before this but for a diff reason, Wasn’t the Pharaoh going to release them on his own, but Gd didn’t want that- wanted to make him and the Egyptians suffer for enslaving Hebrews- so He hardened the Pharaohs heart into stone so he wouldn’t release them until the plagues came down, including the angel of death that took ‘presumably’ innocent firstborn Egyptian sons? That was always weird to me why He did that

You’re consistently ignoring the fact that it specifically states they are “property” that can be beaten, and passed down after death. That’s not indentured servitude. It also encourages taking little girls as sex slaves. Read ALL of the verses on slavery, not just the ones that tickle your ears
