Mexico declared war on the axis powers in 1942, they only initially were doing economic trades with germany before the war kicked into full gear, as were tons of other countries. You turned comments off because you know you’re lying

Also weren’t the Germans already losing the war by 1942?

Not visibly or obviously, only in retrospect. It lasted another 3 years, don’t try to make this out to be like mexico just bandwagoned the winners. What is your motivation here?

I’ve literally never heard that before. I learned that the U.S. learned of mexicos involvement with the Germans and threatened them directly, eventually leading to them switching. You sure that didn’t happen after they switched?

The battle of Stalingrad and Midway both occurred in 1942 signaling the turning point of the war in both Asia and Europe. My motivation? lol what is your deal

Interesting. I’ll have to look more into that. I was mainly referring to Mexico and Germany’s longstanding alliance by this point and that the allies had pressured them into joining their side

Brother this is WW1, 25 years before what we’re talking about. And it wasn’t even an agreement, it was Germany sending a desperate proposal to mexico, strategically appealing to a nation that shares a border with its enemy’s. I wouldn’t call that an alliance and i wouldn’t call it relevant to WW2

Yes but WWI was the direct cause of WWII. WWI saw the dismantling of kings, a global pandemic, caused the depression, and left Germany with the bill for the entire war. This eventually led to the rise of the Nazis because people were starving and needed someone to blame (not excusing it, just giving context). In a lot of ways we are still living through the consequences of what happened 80-100 years ago. They typically gloss over WWI in school because it’s still relevant today (the Middle East)

It’s all good I’m used to it lol. If you’re into history and you bring it up in casual conversations people tend to assume the worst. I always have to be like I swear I’m not a nazi I just like history 😭

Schools of thought change across time as well and history gets re-written or modified the further you get away from events. So, sometimes you remember learning something from when you were younger that they don’t teach anymore
