I’m a conservative who wants to conserve the environment. I’m not MAGA.

The word “conservative” has lost all meaning in politics because those who call themselves conservative aren’t conserving anything, they’re throwing the country into a socioeconomic tailspin while changing a ton of laws, which is the exact opposite of conserving a society.

- Donald’s changing the color of the reflecting pool in the Lincoln Memorial. - He has demolished the East Wing of the White House. - He used so many of our missiles in Iran they will not be able to restore inventory until 2029 at the soonest. What exactly is he conserving?

Conservative is slowly starting to mean conserving the traditions of the 1850s-1950s US

Calling the modern Republican Party “conservatives” is so inaccurate. They don’t conserve they consume.

conservatives, as name suggests, aim only to conserve the current power structure. So the rich get richer and the poor get poorer because that will always be the incentive of the ruling, powerful class. This gives billionaires free rein to do as they wish and destroy the earth.

I know ALOT of conservatives who don’t necessarily think like that. Making a blanket statement like that hurts the “good conservative” or moderates who have slightly more conservative leaning views. Every conservative I’ve meet have been pro- protecting the environment. Most have gone on “trash hunts” (where they go lose in parks and pick up trash) just for fun.

I’m a conservative who loves to hike, fish, hunt, and enjoy anything in nature. I care about the lands that I use, and the ones that I don’t. The Republican Party literally has had presidents like Teddy Roosevelt who helped establish the National Parks system, and Richard Nixon who created the EPA, so I don’t understand why we can’t continue such milestones in the present day…

If your opponent’s position only sounds convincing after you’ve rewritten it into a Looney Tunes villain monologue, you probably don’t have much of an argument.

we need more ppl like you! as much as im glad you love the environment, this is clearly not a commonly held conservative belief. most conservative & republican policy makers actively roll back environmental protections to prioritize economic growth

Also his administration has opened so many acres of public land to oil, gas, and mineral leasing. He’s loosening logging restrictions in national forests. He’a proposing the sale of hundreds of thousands of acres of public land near cities.

I don’t even think you can say they’re conserving that, rising cost of living is making it harder for everyone to keep the quality of life they had 3, 5, 10 years ago, even people who claim they’re conserving it

I think our technological and societal state is too different to make that comparison. Society is too globalized, interconnected, and completely technologically different. The keys to power are completely different, whereas 100 years ago power was determined by industry and raw military might, now it’s all intelligence networks and technological capability. Society is controlled in a completely different manner than it was before

Arguably the top 5ish percent are doing just fine and they've convinced part of the public that if they help those at the top conserve their wealth and cushy lifestyles, they'll reap some of the benefits as well. Unfortunately, that isn't how anything works. Trickle-down economics is and always was completely bs. Thankfully though it seems like slowly but surely more people are waking up to this.

I don’t even think that’s a valid comparison, it’s less racial segregation and more class segregation, the haves and have nots. The wealth stratification is more than it’s been in any country basically ever. They’re making labor obsolete through technology, n when us plebs aren’t needed in the factories anymore we’ll be swept away. I think chalking it up to just white supremacy is a one dimensional view, obscuring the actual mechanics at work and is a misdirection effort by the Epstein class
