The way I'm seeing it rn is that people with power is simply letting things get worse. Idk to where, but each day I read something about a new bill constricting budgets on necessary things, the legislation being lopsided to get rid of more voting power of the people, taking away job opportunities for it to be taking over by AI, making things less affordable because everything somethow has to be manufactured in one country, loosing up food restrictions so there's rises a likelihood of disease...
only for that treatment to be outrageously expensive for the regular citizen to afford, retirement is now a hope because the money is not sustainable for the elderly, the fear of walking outside to have the thought of anyone with a concealed weapon going anywhere firing it on innocent people, the way the air keeps thickening and getting hotter from all the pollutants accumulating in our atmosphere, how there's so many empty homes at high rates because companies and investors will always own the
I don’t downplay the very real challenges that many people face in the world, and the fact that there are ongoing genocides and wars that are raging across the world - but for the most part people’s lives have gotten better with each century. We are merely upright beasts, and our instinct is to believe the worst possible scenario and stick with our pack. So we see something bad happen on the news every day as there are 5/6 continents with over 7 Billion people on them and the me up feeling like the world is at a close as it now happens every day.
