The way I'm seeing it rn is that people with power is simply letting things get worse. Idk to where, but each day I read something about a new bill constricting budgets on necessary things, the legislation being lopsided to get rid of more voting power of the people, taking away job opportunities for it to be taking over by AI, making things less affordable because everything somethow has to be manufactured in one country, loosing up food restrictions so there's rises a likelihood of disease...

Personally I think it’s because information is now more and more accessible. We live in relatively peaceful and prosperous times, where our biggest problems are so mild compared to what humans had to endure even 80 years ago.

Just remember that with every action comes an equal and opposite reaction. Sure, it’s shit right now, but we’re going to see a HUGE boom in progress in a few years. Mark my words

People are run by these social media algorithms. They feed you want you want to hear and keep over feeding you and people don’t question the content

only for that treatment to be outrageously expensive for the regular citizen to afford, retirement is now a hope because the money is not sustainable for the elderly, the fear of walking outside to have the thought of anyone with a concealed weapon going anywhere firing it on innocent people, the way the air keeps thickening and getting hotter from all the pollutants accumulating in our atmosphere, how there's so many empty homes at high rates because companies and investors will always own the

I don’t downplay the very real challenges that many people face in the world, and the fact that there are ongoing genocides and wars that are raging across the world - but for the most part people’s lives have gotten better with each century. The main thing that defines our generation, and perhaps our pessimism and belief that these are unusually cruel times, is the fact that nearly unlimited information is available at your fingertips

We are merely upright beasts, and our instinct is to believe the worst possible scenario and stick with our pack. So we see something bad happen on the news every day as there are 5/6 continents with over 7 Billion people on them and the me up feeling like the world is at a close as it now happens every day.

An example is that if we got very sick, our hospital bills would be among, if not the most concerning thing about our experience with that illness. The same illness would have been nearly 100% fatal only 150 years ago, and was 20% fatal until only 40 years ago.

Yeah i’m not talking about on the scale of centuries, I mean relative to recent developments. You cannot tell me we are progressing with this administration, or with the dramatically increasing equity gap

Progress ebbs and flows, but it is important to he the change you want to make in the world, and to protect your fellow men and women. Ultimately, we may very well have four years of ‘evil’ should you consider the right wing ‘evil’, but we may see the ‘good’ left dominate politics for eight years following this administration’s course.

I don’t like thinking of politics in this way (left v right) but this is unfortunately the implication I get from your reply and other’s replies. However, I wish you the best and if you needed someone to talk to about problems, I am always an anonymous ear for people.
