Something I hate about the fever scales- so average temp is 98.6 but there’s a range of normal temperatures Low-grade fever is 99.1-100.3 and actual fever is 100.4 ok cool My resting temperature is 97.4-97.6 That’s within normal range—

— but for someone with average temperature they only have to be 0.5 F hotter to be in low grade fever or 1.8 F for an actual fever but I have to be 1.7 F hotter to be LOW GRADE fever or a full 3 F to be considered feverish So I took my temperature earlier today because I felt like I was getting sick and I was 97.4 and now I’m 98 (so 0.6 F increased) so I have an elevated temperature but I’m still no where near fever levels

It’s just kind of ridiculous- I understand the need for it but also maybe have like a standardized range like low grade fever is 0.5-1.7 degrees above average resting temperature 1.8-3.6 above resting for moderate And 3.6+ for high grade (and then 104 F and above is dangerously high)

But in my experience a lot of nurses and doctors will just look at me and say oh you don’t have a fever just slightly elevated while at like 98.8 meanwhile I’m a full degree hotter than I would normally be
