My friend had to do this over this past summer. He works out at a gym that apparently does a free summer pass for high schoolers, and some child was constantly looking at him, trying to talk to him, and clearly trying to show off in front of him. He went to the front desk about it, because there were no parents in sight.

I don’t know that you necessarily have to tell the parents, but you should absolutely reject their advances immediately

I feel like it depends honestly. If they think your a teen and they still try with you even though you say no then I would be concerned. I’d understand if they think the other party is a teen but turns out to be someone 18+ but if the continue then it’s weird

Honestly- good on your friend. It may feel uncomfortable, but reporting this type of behavior from adolescents is essential so that there’s intervention/they don’t get groomed later on.

Yeah, he talked to me about it a lot and he truly felt disgusting even though he didn’t do anything to encourage it. I felt bad for him :/

Same thing has happened to my partner… we were in our friend’s mom’s house picking her up and her 13-14 YO cousin and friends were all obviously staring at him. We didn’t know they were there and he did have his shirt buttoned up at first because we were going to the beach. He covered up very quickly and said he felt gross after that, too. You SHOULD feel some form of disgust, even if you aren’t encouraging it.
