Tired of the “us vs. them” mentality that gets pushed all over social media. Like for example, the “gen z stare” thing. Its dumb cause some people are rude and other people aren’t, we don’t have to put it on an entire generation imo

The gen z stare thing is dumb. I bet not one person can give me a generally accepted definition of the term.

It’s def a common thing. But if it’s not you then why worry

Cause I think the us vs. them mentality creates animosity towards people who don’t deserve it. Like with the example I shared, it might lead to older generations assuming all of gen Z is like that when thats not true

Exactly this. We are all just humans. I feel the same about the us vs them mentality people have towards immigrants, legal and illegal.

That is a shit mentality. We as humans should care about each other. I fucking hate this individualistic society. It’ll be our downfall

That’s an ideal world. Most people are only worried about themselves. If you think you can change that then go for it

I think people are mostly out for themselves because society is so individualistic though. It would be ideal if it weren’t like that but that doesn’t mean its not possible. I think its changing already

This is the case around the world, and in most places the consequences for such actions are worse. If you come into the country illegally, whether you think it is fair or not, you don’t belong here. We also had the asylum thing for people in trouble not so the system can be abused for selfish gain.

Life isn’t black and white black and white. A utopia doesn’t appear from nothing whenever we just accept every person in the world, illegal or not, good or evil. It isn’t perfect but there are legal ways to go about things such as immigration for a reason.

This one is for everyone, instead of wanting to allow every single person into a country illegal or not, shouldn’t we want to make the rest of the world a desirable place to be instead?

This isn’t about illegal immigration at all, I’m not discussing politics with you. I’m just saying people should see them as human beings and not as some “other”. Has nothing to do with legality

I fucking knew someone would take it that way too. It’s just an example of the us vs them

Have you ever been to other countries besides America? They have completely different cultures than us. And some of those cultures value community and connection. It’s Americans who as so individualistic that they don’t care about anyone else

Like Central and South America? You are the one who brought it up, no need to get hostile.

I’m not being hostile? Some African countries value community, some European countries do, some Asian countries do. Not everything is about American politics

I definitely agree that we should make the rest of the world a desirable place to be, especially because the US has the authority to do so and because it has played a large part in destabilizing other regions in the world. But i think that a big part of the reason there is such a problem with illegal immigration is because the path to citizenship is not straightforward or easy and people will take their chances for a better life. Both problems should be addressed IMO

Also definitely agree that America is way more individualistic than a lot of other cultures

How is anything I said backed by negativity? You’re the one arguing a null point for the sake of argument. Just because you believe every thought in your mind equates to fact doesn’t mean that is the case. Instead of giving valid points, you spoke through your emotion. Stop projecting, disliking every single one of my replies is evidence of such.
