People who argue that abortion is immoral should pledge to never eat meat, never kill any insects, never lay out mousetraps, etc. If you value life SO much, be consistent.

And if their opinion is that human life is different (which is objectively selfish), then the person on death row who raped and killed children should logically be spared, because “human life is precious.”

Most religious talking points about Abortion are religiously founded, and thus as OP sort of addressed are considered different. They are not consistent on valuing all life, but they can be consistent on morality given to them by their religion. This is kind of an example of talking past the other side.

On this point the Catholic Church and many Protestant/Ecumenical faiths agree. Look up the Second Lateran Council if you want to see more evidence.
