It’s always funny to me how they call both Islam and Judaism ā€œdemonicā€ when Christianity developed from Judaism and Islam developed from Judaism and Christianity- it just doesn’t make any sense

Taking posts from that community serious is like taking a post from the Republican community or US Politics community serious. 95% of the posts are just trollsšŸ’€

I just went through the community a bit and hooooooly hell are they fucking lost and confused. All of these people keep complaining about very real problems and the only solutions being offered (or even asked for) for are ā€œpray for meā€ and ā€œtrust in god’s plan.ā€ Not financial advice or any real suggestions on what to do next, just ā€œpray about itā€

as someone who was never raised religious trying to believe in a god is like trying to believe in santa claus to me. with all due respect for other peoples beliefs. i just don’t get it. i love religious architecture and paintings though they are so beautiful

Abrahamics will never get along. If you put three people in a room after telling each of the three people that they are the best, there’s bound to be a fight in that room

It’s almost like… if god is real and revealed themselves, humans are flawed and could have easily misinterpreted, be it accidentally or willingly? (The latter has already been proven with the anti-pederasty lines being warped into anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric in the past 100 years)

Speaking as a Hindu, we think God can manifest himself in every and any way. Why he manifests himself in some way is what our mortal minds cannot comprehend. Yet his true form is formless. The tension is when people assume they are his favorite or his chosen ones. I’m curious, what do you mean by anti-pederasty?

It’s insane to me how converting people and forcing ideas on them is mainstream. Don’t get me wrong I love having discussions about religion and learning other people’s perspectives and beliefs. But If the purpose of religion is to find your way in the world then why force it on others and get ā€œfrustratedā€ when they don’t find themselves spiritually in the same way as you. Let people love their own spirituality and find it themselves. Its absurd.

Modern Judaism split from 1st century Judaism shortly after Christianity ā€œsplitā€ off, especially since the destruction of the Temple in 79 AD. Both are different entities than what was around before Jesus. And Islam came ~600 years after Jesus, so a whole different story from both

But they both share some of the same core tenants. Muslims believe in the Bible, Torah, and Quran. They believe that Abraham was a prophet along with Jews. Without Judaism Christianity wouldn’t exist. And without Christianity, Islam wouldn’t exist (since Muslims ā€œbelieveā€ in the Bible and Jesus is also a prophet in Islam) they are most definitely different, but they couldn’t exist without each other

That’s true that they’re not independent. However, they do not share core tenants. Islam, and modern Judaism for that matter, outright reject the Divinity of Jesus. Islam even claims that Jesus didn’t die on the cross, despite its historical credibility (and the Quran is historically wrong a lot). They’re different beasts altogether. However, exploring their histories is not feasible on this platform, but searching for Truth, and thus selecting between these for answers, is very important

Growing up in catholic school (not religious anymore) they would tell us our mission is to spread the word of god to others and help them find their path to god. So yeah unfortunately it’s kinda built into the system to be annoying about it.

I suppose I used ā€œcore tenantsā€ incorrectly, I kinda mean it like at its core they’re all Abrahamic religions and they’re more connected to each other than any other religions. They all different in beliefs of the afterlife, prophets, modesty standards, ways of praying, etc. but at the end of the day is it wasn’t for prophet Abraham none of the Abrahamic religions would exist

The alleged pederasty claims I’ve found to be heavily reliant upon the Bible as a static work that had no other usage until our time now. Mainstream Christian bishops and teachers taught that homosexuality was wrong because of its nonconformity with nature, not simply the social practice. That’s the latest pitfall with the new interpretations on the Pauline passages you’re alluding to

I’ll grant you that, sure. What’s next, then, is determining which of these are true, and that’s what especially differentiates Islam from Christianity and Judaism. If, for example, some Scientologists claimed that Moses was the first member of their group, that doesn’t make it true (nor would Moses himself agree). Truth matters

I don’t judge religion I’m a firm believer that people need something to believe in sort of like a child needs a teddy bear to sleep at night. I will say this is my biggest problem is this aspect in religion. Everything feels disconnected from free will. ā€œ____ got me through itā€ it’s like anything you do is equated to this higher being. It’s a bit like learned helplessness after a while. My friend told me a story that she needed help from her school because of financial aid reasons.

She didn’t say I went to the financial aid office because I needed help she said God told her to go. I was genuinely confused because why did you need god to tell you to go ask questions ? I think that’s the logical thing to do. I’ve visited my schools financial aid office at least 10 times this semester because they keep messing things up. It ends up feeling like they put signs where there aren’t any. Really like self soothing.

Yeah my bestfriend actually just did this and it really shifted how I felt about her cause it’s the last thing I expected. Really told me what I believed in was demonic. Mind you I would never disrespect another persons religion but the people I hear do it the most are Christian’s

Yeah, it gets pretty worrisome sometimes. I saw a post there about a girl who was impregnated by her brother (I believe she was raped) and all of the comments were ā€œtrust in gods planā€ ā€œgod still loves youā€ ā€œrepent for your sinā€ ā€œdon’t listen to the opinions of othersā€. Like no - go to the police!!!

In my experience with Christians its just Islam they consider demonic. To them Jews are just lost and confused waiting on a messiah that already came
