The studies have been done. Yes, exposure to paraphilic content, colloquially referred to as “fetishes” does cause people to develop those paraphilia. The same is true of action, if you do something enough you are likely to become “into it.” Hence why so many gay men were victims of male sexual abuse as children.

It has a high correlation. I’m not saying it’s automatic, or that every gay man was abused. But a disproportionate number of gay men were victims of sexual abuse during their formative years.

Not sure, but the proportion of gay men who were the victims of childhood abuse is well above the average for the population. From what I’ve read it’s correlation that suggests causation. Given the research on paraphilia it makes sense that there’s a causal relationship but I’m not qualified to say for sure.

It’s obviously not a 1:1 relationship, not all gay men were molested, and not all men who are molested are gay. But I’m less worried about what’s turning people gay and more concerned with what’s turning them into people who are into noncon/rape material. Or pedos etc. (yes I think all that pedo anime shit can actually affect people in that way.)

No it is not correlation that suggests causation, it is v simply an association. That assumption that it’s causal is coming from YOU, not those studies. Psychological/sociological studies will almost never ever suggest something is causal, especially when the prevalence of CSA in gay/bi men is anywhere from 11-37% depending on studies. Thats just not high enough to suggest causation. It DOES suggest that something is going on & it warrants further research, there could be lots of explanations

And these statistics aren’t even denoting male on male CSA, just CSA in general. Factoring in male on male would of course bring those numbers down
