Me and my brother were a similar age and if we genuinely hurt each other, we would stop and apologize or our parents would mediate if it escalated. That’s play-fighting. Beating and choking your much younger sibling until they bruise is definitely not play-fighting.

My brother told me that his goal was to give me a fat lip and a black so that everyone at school knew that he could kick my 4$$. Unfortunately I didn’t bruise nor bleed easily.

It’s not normal. Yes siblings fight absolutely and things happen (my brother broke my collarbone by accident but still Bear hugged me and we fell to the ground). Slapping, teasing are normal. Choking isn’t. I’m sorry you had to go through with that
