i read 1984 and i was imagining julia as this super hot asian woman and then like halfway through winston says she’s ugly so i looked up a picture of her from the movie and she was most certainly not a super hot asian woman

Yes! In fact you even have a little bit of Lee way and can potentially pick your own island. One character getting banished is a poet who is depressed because he lives in a pain free conformist society. So he wants to go to a rainy island to better write his poetry.

Basically if you conform to the government. You get to be high on soma all the time and also having tons of worry free sex Maybe if you’re chosen to be the bottom rung of society (Epselions) you’re not having too much sex but you’re brainwashed from birth to be happy about your place. And if you don’t want to live in this society you can go to an island with all of the other conformists! Or you can live on the “savage reservation” with people that are monogamous and have naturally born kids

Well…. The sexing isn’t really a choice. You’d be conditioned to be promiscuous or else you’d be socially outcast. But again, then you’d just go to the island. You may not have much of a choice of the island actually. I know one of the directors was going to send the MC to Iceland. Maybe the poet was an exception.
