okay so ik someone from a third world country & they were telling me how the amount they make in a month is the same as i do in two weeks but get this, i get taxed 200 DOLLARS on my salary & they only get taxed FIVE????? SOMEONE PLS EXPLAIN

I mean yeah a third world country isn’t gonna tax much because they aren’t getting anything, no healthcare, no education, no upkeep of cities, if you didn’t pay taxes more of your salary would be spent on even more expensive healthcare and more expensive education even though it’s already soooo expensive in America which sucks ass

third world countries have crazy disparities. they exist because the crazy rich there exploit literal slave labor. yeah slavery might not be legal there but those people cannot escape their situation no matter how long or hard they work and they usually can barely afford to eat. that’s what modern slavery is. it’s perpetuated by rich folk. i’m not even some communist dude, but if you meet enough people from foreign countries, you start to realize there is a class of people who make and live

its just mind boggling to me that we're literally living in *very* similar situations if not worse on my end (im homeless) & yet im being taxed so much more on my end like😭 IM NOT SEEING THE BENEFITS
