Because before he was murdered in cold blood in an extremely graphic video which was circulated widely and seen by millions and openly celebrated by tens of thousands, he was just a guy who debated people. Now he’s a martyr, and largely because of all those people who celebrated he will continue to be a major figure in American politics for a while yet.
