i highly doubt “a lot of people” retire with that amount. my grandparents who own land and worked all their lives didn’t. my other grandmother works almost every day and can’t even afford to retire. and it’s not because they’re all “really bad at saving money.” those of us that come from nothing aren’t just going to magically have 1mil at retirement

statistically that is still a pretty low amount. 90% of people don’t. also, is that globally? i wouldn’t be surprised to find that the percentage in the US is lower
