IMO It’s more on how you value consciousness. The fact that we have the consciousness to be able to even debate whether there is an after life is pretty unique. Also it depends on your definition or idea of what an after life is. A more classical sense of heaven might seem narcissistic in its human-centric nature, however an after life similar to Pantheism or Monism is less is more energy-centric in its beliefs. So yes it can seem that way but afterlife isn’t a singular idea.
