completely understandable. but i think a true final act of resistance to him is to continue to show humanity and empathy (not even to him necessarily, just in general). i hated this guy. so why should i let myself become cold and ignorant like him?

Yes! I want to comment this sentiment everywhere but don’t have the energy. People saying how bad he is then using that as an excuse to be just as bad…Like, people’s stupidity and shortsightedness is sadder than everything else.

That’s not even what he said. That is a fake quote. Look up the actual video. He was talking about how sympathy is much better word than empathy. Stop spreading misinformation and therefore hate. If you’re going to attack his character at least don’t fabricate things.

I think this sense of responsibility to constantly show respect to the opposition who repeatedly spits in your face by advocating against your rights is nonsensical. Yes, it is the more “morally righteous” position to take but you never see the right giving the same respect back. In fact Kirk himself advocated for his followers to bail out the attempted murderer of Paul Pelosi.

i don’t feel a “sense of responsibility” to feel any kind of way, and it’s not my goal to show respect to the opposition either. it’s simply just my opinion and how i feel.

and charlie advocating for the bail out of the pelosi attackers was disgusting to me as well. so, why would i want to act in that same disgusting way? violence is violence.

I agree violence is violence. I think the shooting is bad just like I think all shootings are bad. At the same time I also won’t grieve him. These aren’t mutually exclusive opinions
