Did you know that In Iran, if a 12-year-old girl is forcibly impregnated by her father, she must carry her baby to term or she’ll spend the rest of her life in prison? Oh, did I say Iran? I meant to say Mississippi, Alabama & Texas. My bad!

This is not true. It’s the person who does the abortion who is incriminated. Too many false statements nowadays trying to bring out emotion in people (ie saying the raped child would go to prison) which is doing nothing but causing more conflict. Not just w the abortion shit but w everything

In Texas the doctor could get life in prison but not the patient.

I’m pretty sure in Islam if a man rapes a woman than that man can be killed by her too

As of 2021 this is also true for Iran except the life in prison part.

In Alabama the person who receives an abortion is not civilly or criminally liable.

… look up the law. In Mississippi, abortion is legal in rape cases. Also none of these states say the consequence is prison, let alone for life.

In Mississippi there’s a rape exception but you must report it to law enforcement. And no life in prison sentence as far as I know.

It doesn’t really change anything if it says the person doing the abortion. Because that could mean a doctor, but also the victim themself trying to perform some kind of dangerous abortion. It’s to scare people from doing any kind of abortion at all, which means forcing the victim to be pregnant. You can never take the law at face value.

There shouldn’t be ANY law on abortions. Women should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies, and little girls should never experience pregnancy.

The difference is the doctor is licensed in that state so they can’t perform the abortion no matter what, however the child can travel a couple hours and get an abortion legally. I agree there shouldn’t be any laws but these emotion inducing false statements involving societal issues do nothing but cause more conflict. Let’s at least be real about it

How could a child travel by themself. Let’s put our thinking caps on here, if they live in a conservative state, what does it mean for their parents? Do you think they would let the child travel somewhere else to get an abortion?

Anonymous replying to -> #6 16h

Of course there are exceptions to this, maybe the parents aren’t actually brain dead, or she has adults who actually care for her. But what about the children who don’t have that type of support?

Anonymous replying to -> #21 16h

It’s not a false statement what they said, it’s more like what these laws actually mean. No law will say these things directly nowadays, but that’s how can very well be used in court or during some other kinds of legal proceedings. This is a post that brings awareness to these issues, and it is good if it brings up emotions because only when everyone can finally feel uncomfortable with the way things are, will this country change.

a 16-17 year old i believe is what is legal and they are fully capable of deciding to marry who they want if that's what they choose to do. and it has to be someone of a similar age. they can't get married but they can change their gender? what if they want to? i'm not talking about young kids bro, if they can decide to pump themselves full of hormones because that's what they want they can decide if they wanna get married.

A16-17 yr old is still a child. A MINOR. A Kidddddd. Someone going through hormone therapy doesn’t compare AT ALL to getting married. It’s literally just medication. A child get pregnant and getting married is NOT alright at allllll

then neither is hormone therapy, they're either old enough to make their own choices about their body or not, end of story. you don't get to pick and choose when someone has bodily autonomy based on your political agenda, they either have it or they don't.

Once again hormone therapy is no a political agenda, it’s literally just medication. That’s it. You don’t even have to be trans to take them. A man taking testosterone is hormone therapy. A child getting pregnant is not bodily autonomy. Do you think a 16 yr old can adopt a child??

A child is someone they would have to take care of, who would depend on them. Why would another child be taking that kind of responsibility. That’s fucked up

That's like saying if a kid is old enough to choose their haircut then they are old enough to get married and have kids of their own... changing your own body is presenting autonomy to an individual, allowing them to enter CONTRACTS with other people and be RESPONSIBLE for another human is not the same as hormone therapy.

I'm not sure if it passed, but Texas has a bill or law about making it illegal to use their roads to get an abortion. So yes, the one getting the abortion is the criminal there, and they aren't allowing people to even leave the state to go get an abortion elsewhere.

But in Iran (which is occupied by a theocratic dictatorship btw), the regime will execute the woman for “adultery”. And even if she killed him, she would still be executed for “murder”. Source: I’m LITERALLY an Iranian woman.

That's not a reliable source... the number of people in the US that don't know the justice system really shows that being a citizen of a country doesn't mean shit for understanding the country. Provide an actual source.

Fine. The law treats rape under the broader category of “adultery”, & multiple country reports note that SA survivors can risk being prosecuted for adultery because of how the burden of proof and misogynistic testimony rules work. The UK Home Office’s 2026 country report on Iran specifically says a woman who is a victim of rape risks being prosecuted for “adultery”. Iran also retains the death penalty for adultery & many normal sexual acts. Don’t ever defend the regime that murdered my family.
