As someone who has struggled with my mental health for way too long. A few things I have found that helps. I disconnected from most social media apps. If I have it it’s a fake name I can use for groups I want to stay up to date on, but I don’t connect with anyone. I started keeping people who didn’t make me feel happy at a distance- family included. It literally is quality not quantity. I say what I mean. I seek counseling during my downs. Even my shrink says it can be on and off and meds.
Y’allll, if you don’t like your life YOU have to change it, if you hate your job find a new one and quit, if you hate your major change it, prioritize your health, find cool experiences, go volunteer somewhere with free housing and a stipend, cut people out of your life that don’t make it better, travel and live in your car, you have to be proactive with these things…a cool life will not just happen, you have to make it happen. You are completely in charge of your life.
WWOOF if you’re interested in farming Peace Corps for humanitarian projects Wildlife Conservation projects State parks usually provide housing and you could go into education (what I did), park management, or forestry Stipends vary, but many volunteer organizations or environmental services provide housing and some sort of compensation, not all tho
