I agree w/ number 6. While you DO need to eat more, you gotta work with your doctor to slowly increase your caloric intake. You should also eat whenever you feel hunger cues (check w/ your doc tho), and try not to stress about calories. The reason why you gained weight is because your body is used to being in starvation mode and is attempting to save every scrap it can in order to keep you alive when you can’t find food, this is perfectly normal and a sign your body can still function.

I’m going to be honest. This is less than half of what you should be eating in a day. Depending on your build and whatnot I’d recommend at least ~2.5x this amount (At least ~1,800 calories per day). I’m not a nutrition expert by any means, I don’t know your full situation, and calories aren’t the only way to see how much food you’re eating, so keep this in mind. Good luck!

I would look into a calculator or chart for your body type. Of course, every body is different and a base chart may not work for you. Generally speaking, an adult should be consuming ~1800 calories. Your body burns calories just by functioning, you do have to replace those calories in order to maintain your general health and body composition. I’m pretty sure it’s called the muller equation, but that might give you some better guidance on your necessary intake. You’ve got this!

Is there any way you can regularly see a therapist? I think it would help immensely and give you a space to bounce anxious thoughts off someone and get unbiased perspective. Getting consistent assurance and emotional relief like that will help you increase calories (as you should, for the sake of your health) without being terrified of gaining weight

isn't it lowkey self explanatory what is and isn't enough to eat? there's literally an equation based on your activity levels and height, just go look up how much you need to maintain or gain weight. why would you even ask that here except to be like look at me i'm underrating validate me uwu

I’m 5’2, rn around 95-97 lbs (depends on the day). I started eating around 2-3 months ago and went from 86 to 95 real quick

No I’m asking that bc I genuinely don’t know if those are accurate bc I’ve been eating way beyond under what it says And have still gained. It was a genuine question. Please keep in mind I haven’t eaten normally in 6 years. I didn’t mean to harm anyone

Another thing as well, I see a lot of really good foods here. However, I also can’t recommend obsessing over measurements at this point in time. Eat to where you’re satisfied. Eat foods that are filling and substantial. There are plenty of resources on that. Take care of yourself and be kind to your body.

(I’m yapping, sorry but:) Regarding the equation I mentioned, it’s important to note that your result is your absolute minimum to maintain functionality. You’ll want to consume more than that amount starting out so that you can give yourself a bit of wiggle room. Once you’re in a condition that you’re satisfied with, you’ll do the equation again then and the amount you calculate should act as a means of maintaining that body composition. Once again, you’ve got this. You’re going to do great!

Just so you know, it’s actually dangerous for anorexic people to eat a lot all of the sudden. They need to slowly work their way up. So the correct advice to this person is to talk to their doctor, not tell them to eat more, lol.
