He is trying to get a bill passed that would allow it tho. 2 consecutive terms rather than 2 terms in total. Which would eliminate say Obama from running (not that he would).

I don’t pay too close of attention to politics, I don’t think it would be that bad if getting elected as president has you on for 8 years and then you’re done. It would allow them to be able to implement more of what they said they wanted to do. Now obviously if that does happen, I don’t think he should automatically get those extra 4 years because of the fact he would have a total of 8 already

No the bill he’s passing isn’t saying 8 years total. It’s 2 consecutive terms. So he could run every other election and that would be fine. For any number of actual terms as long as they weren’t consecutive.

So like… he could run, win the election, be on for 8 years, then has to wait but then 8 years later he could run again? Or would the term still be 4 years? I’ll have to look into it so I can understand better. Thank you for being nice about it tho, most people aren’t
