wait so, AI “plants” (idk what they’re called) use so much water to cool the machines down and AI = bad bc it use too much water (just 1 reason why it’s bad, but yk) … so why didn’t they just build these AI “plants” somewhere much colder instead? 🤔
there is actually a booming data center industry in iceland for this exact reason! prime climate year round for cooling the beep boops

idk the specifics but i’m pretty sure those also use a lot of water, it’s just easier to climate control in terms of costs for HVAC etc

yeah i mean no doubt im sure they use a lot of water also but i feel like it makes more sense if smth is gonna be real hot to put it in a place evenly cold 😫
